After one year of work, Team Tennessee members will pause to acknowledge what they've accomplished this year -- a new mural, Red Ribbon week events, colorful banners and crosswalk signs.

The group will celebrate its one-year anniversary from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Vallejo City Hall, 555 Santa Clara St.

Team Tennessee grew out of the first class of Leadership Vallejo, a year-long effort in which residents, who want improve the town, take classes and learn leadership skills.

"The most important thing we did is that we planned something, created a group, partnered with the city and we got things done," said Team Tennessee member Maria Guevara.

During the two-hour event, members will outline their accomplishments and pledge to continue their work improving Tennessee Street. The public is invited.
